VAR ITER ACTIONS gathers the Var Chamber of Commerce and Industry (industry department and Var Accueil Investisseurs), the Var Chamber of jobs and Crafts, Toulon Var Technologies Innovation and the Var Departmental Council.
On July 1st, this network will organize in the office of CNIM (Brégaillon – La Seyne sur mer) a meeting on the following subjects: the opportunities of the civil nuclear energy, ITER and the CEA of Cadarache for the var industry.

The "Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Marine safety and security" cluster, twinned with the
"Brittany Marine" centre primarily focuses on maritime safety and security, engineering,
maintenance, naval services, harnessing marine energy resources, taking advantage of marine
biological resources,
the environment of the Var
and coastal management. Development lines:
- Maritime security and safety,
- Ship and nautical industry,
- Marine energy resources,
- Marine biological resource,
- Sustainable development.

Since the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Marine cluster was awarded its status in July 2005 it has become a reference for sustainable development and maritime security policies in the Mediterranean.
The Marine Competitiveness Cluster aims to become a global authority by turning the PACA region into one of excellence… a magnet for companies and research centres. The PACA Marine Cluster's recognised efficiency is based on operational governance that is buoyed by the commitment of all the players, project proposers and partners and concerted deployment with its twin, the Pôle Mer Bretagne.
As it stands today, the PACA Sea Cluster comprises:
- a network of over 270 members (SMEs, groups and other companies, research and training bodies),
- 121 approved projects,
- 85 projects that have secured finance.
The PACA Sea Cluster’s two strategic focuses are maritime security and safety and sustainable development, which are developed along the following five themes: maritime security and safety, shipping and water sports, marine energy resources, marine biological resources and environment and coastal management
